Rural Road Development and Maintenance Management

Course Brief: This course is designed to upgrade knowledge and skills of participants in planning, design, construction and maintenance management of road networks in rural areas. It provides opportunity to widen perspectives of participants on benefits of well-constructed and maintained, and sufficient road network to accelerate growth of rural community and to support poverty reduction projects/programs.

Course content includes rural roads planning and design, constriction techniques and management, maintenance techniques and management, and technical visit and on-site study to observe various types of activities on rural road construction including construction scheduling and control, quality control, use of construction equipment, labor-based construction and maintenance of roads, and observation of road repair, rehabilitation and reconstruction methods.
