Participants: Business analysts, business systems analysts, software system architects, product marketers, product managers, quality assurance analysts, programmer analysts, and other professionals who are facilitating or leading process improvement efforts.

Course Brief: Business analysts study the overall business and IT needs of an organization in order to develop appropriate solution strategies. As the key liaison between business and information technology departments, the business analyst is responsible for gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into functional system design specifications that can be successfully executed by IT development teams.

This course focuses on the core skills, techniques and practices required of an effective business analyst. It is designed to give people new to the business analyst role, or those who supervise business analysts, a basic understanding of the functions and business impact of this role. The course provides a special focus on the business analysis function as it relates to the development of IT solutions and the business analysis project life cycle. Content includes the role of the business analyst, gathering and documenting user requirements, modeling the business, business case analysis, process modeling, quality management and testing.
