International Professional Development Program on Hydropower Financing II

The Pakistan Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) is the lead government organization in buidling new and rehabilitating existing hydropower projects in the country. The ability to secure investments and finance  international financial institutions and private investors is a vital knowledge and skill for senior engineers and managers. WAPDA officials need to understand energy regulatory frameworks and enabling environments for financing alternatives and contractual arrangements.

There is a need to understand electricity markets and financial implications of hydropower projects. And there is a need to understand contractual frameworks and the project financing strategies that bring in crucial investments.  The International  Professional Development Program on Hydropower Financing, organized by the Asian Institute of Technology is designed to build the necessary skill sets drawn from various expertise. The program offers conceptual training that sets the foundation for pratical learning and exposure with partners in WAPDA Pakistan, AIT in Thailand, and the Entura Clean Energy and Water Institute in Australia.
