The Project Management Monitoring and Evaluation course is a two-week training program that balances theory with practice. The first week exposes participants to current and evolving approaches to project management. The second week introduces appropriate methodology of project management by focusing on the project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation skills with a particular focus on sustainability.
PMME will help participants steer work process towards clearly defined goals, increase program impact, and improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of projects and teams both small and large.
The program integrates views and experience of seasoned project managers, policy makers and academics about project management skills with field visits to projects in Thailand. These study visits provide participants the opportunity to examine project management in practice and in a variet of organizational contexts

The course methodology comprises lectures, group work, practical exercises, case studies, individual exercises, reflective thinking and group discussions. There will also be a number of study visits to different private and government organizations involved in management and implementation of development projects to provide participants the opportunity to examine project management in practice and in a variety of organizational contexts.
Program managers, project managers or leaders looking to acquire new skills, develop or hone existing skills and gaining practical knowledge can benefit from this course and will be able to implement their learning in day-to-day work environment.

Dr. Roland Amoussou-Guenou
Dr. Roland Amoussou-Guenou is a Partner at Vovan & Associes and lecturer at various institutes and universities in Thailand. He has more than 10 years of professional experience in Asia. Dr. Roland specializes in International law, International arbitration and ADR, Intellectual property law, Public private partnerships (PPPs), Contract management, Mergers and acquisitions, Construction law, Energy law and tax management. He also has a worldwide experience in corporate and professional training programs, especially for IDLO, AIT, UNITAR, the United Nations, the World Bank and ABD. Dr. Roland is an arbitrator of the ICC and served as President of an international arbitration tribunal (UNCITRAL).
Mrs. Teresita D. Suselo
Mrs. Suselo has worked with instiutional capacity building and strengthening, human resources development and training since 1990 for the United Nations, the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, USAID, Mekong River Commission, DANIDA, CIDA, Sida, other international and national agencies, private enterprises and various government offices in the Asia Pacific Region. Her experience covers organizational development and capacity building, strategic planning, planning implementation and facilitation and of institutional capacity-building and training programs, design and development of training materials, project/program planning and management (including LFA, M & E and RBM), development and implementation of computerized information systems, environmental education and training and production and editing of publication. A good understanding of developing countries in Asia has been obtained from many years of experience in the Philippine (13 years), Indonesia (8 years), Thailand (since 1989, and for short periods the various countries in the Asia-Pacific region.
Dr. Faiz Shah
Dr. Faiz Shah currently heads Development Management at Asian Institute of Technology Extension. He has worked as volunteer, trainer and development manager for government, industry and the development sector in 12 countries. Since 2002, he has led institution-building initiatives strengthening key Human Development institutions in Pakistan, re-organizing the country’s apex social policy body, and developing a Government-NGO partnership framework.
In a 30-year change management and capacity-building career, Dr. Shah has advised government- and UN agencies, major companies, and NGOs. He has lectured at AIT Bangkok, Michigan Business School, Punjab University, and the Wharton School and trained over 3,000 local officials and social entrepreneurs in Cambodia, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Dr. Faiz has also successfully led and managed capacity building programs for Pakistan’s energy and water sector.
Mr. Fazle Karim
Karim joined AIT in 1989, working in the areas of IT training and consultancy services, first for the Regional Computer Center, and since 2001, with AIT Extension, where he is a Computer Specialist.
Karim graduated from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in Civil Engineering. He obtained his MBA majoring in Quantitative Analysis from the Institute of Business Administration, Dhaka University and later did M.Eng. in the field of GIS and Remote Sensing from AIT.
As an IT specialist, Karim has served as team member of several IT consultancy work and has served as joint principal investigator of IT projects on Geo-referenced Information System for Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment. He was the course director and coordinator of a number of IT training programs on Operating Systems, Geo-referenced Information System, Project Management, Financial Analysis, Systems Analysis, MIS, Programming Languages and Productivity Software Tools.
Mr. Voravate Chonlasin
As Senior Program Specialist, Mr. Voravate's major responsibilities are analyzing training needs, designing training courses, planning and managing implementation of training programs, facilitating learning activities and evaluating training programs. Mr. Voravate is specialized in competency-based course design for sustainable environment management, urban environment management, rural-regional planning, infrastructure development, agriculture development and water resources management. He is also interested in knowledge management through facilitative learning.
Mr. Voravate was course coordinator and facilitator for the ADB-PPP GMS training courses on Urban Environment Management and 1st and 2nd learning courses on Environment and Natural Resources Planning and Management. He worked with LEAD Associates as coordinator on the LEAD International Workshop on Cross-Border Resource Flow in the GMS held at AIT. He was AIT-Bangkok-Based workshop coordinator chosen by the World Bank Institute to carry out Trainers’ Workshops on Improving Training Quality (ITQ). From 2002 to 2004, he coordinated and facilitated workshop of the ADB SESIP courses for training specialists on Strategic Management Applications in Education Management and Trainer Training.
