Course Brief:
This course aims to enable participants to upgrade and update their knowledge and skills in analyzing urban environmental problems and impacts. It also enables participants to strategically identify appropriate corrective measures to minimize adverse effects and overcome problems caused by rapid urbanization. The course content covers emerging issues in urban environmental planning and management, integrated urban waste management, and strategic urban environmental management.
The course includes case studies on urban waste minimization and technology alternatives, public participation in urban waste management. Study visit are organized to solid waste bank and recycle plants, urban wastewater treatment plants, sanitary landfills, and city beautification and clean city campaigns.
