Root Cause and Failure Analysis

Engineers, technical operators, and production managers play an essential role in manufacturing and industrial production. They are in the business unit responsible for yield targets, maintaining efficiency, and saving costs of the industries. Alongside general problemsolving skills, handling and solving technical problems during the operation are vital to prevent obstruction of the operation and consequence damages.Modern technology and industrial automation can help in detecting faults or failures of the production system. However, decisions and actions to respond to the problems lie under the leadership and the operation team. The team has to comply with technical procedures and maneuver the system to ease corrective actions. AIT Extension has recognized the need for engineering continuing education in the industrial and manufacturing sector on Root Cause and Failure Analysis (RCFA). This training module is designed from the perspective of decision science and quality management. The module's primary focus is on analytic fundamentals and tools that lead to compliance, fault prevention, and problem-solving.
