Training program on “Mainstreaming Gender into Plans, Programs and Legislation” commenced (24 Jan – 04 Feb, 2011)

AIT Extension in cooperation with the Liaison Office of Denmark in Bhutan currently conducts a professional development course on “Mainstreaming Gender into Plans, Programs and Legislation”. The participants are from the Election Commission of Bhutan, the National Council of Women and Children, other government agencies and the private sector.

The aim of this training is to provide knowledge and skills on how to mainstream gender into political and electoral process in the Kingdom in preparation of their upcoming election. Experts on gender mainstreaming, women and politics, development studies, and women in leadership provide lectures and hands-on exercises. Exposure visits will also be made to several offices in Thailand such as the Office of Women’s Affairs and Family Development; the Election Commission of Thailand; the National Statistical Office and the Gender and Development Research Institute.
