AITE Hosts Officials from National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Sri Lanka for a training program on “Toxic and Hazardous Waste Management”

On 15 Jan 2012, AIT Extension received a group of Engineers and Scientist from National Water Supply and Drainage Board, Sri Lanka for a training program on “Toxic and Hazardous Waste Management” (16 – 27 Jan, 2012).  The program is being held at Bangkok, Thailand.

This two-week professional development course aims at enabling participants to strengthen their existing knowledge and formulate various control measures for toxic and hazardous wastes, and to plan appropriate systems for its treatment and disposal.  The course integrates various case studies and group exercises related to policy issues and challenges, technological intervention and management strategies. Further, extensive study visits are also organized to relevant toxic and hazardous waste management treatment sites, sources of pollution, affected communities, and waste collection and transfer centers in Thailand.
