AITE join hands with Office of Civil Service Commission (OCSC), Thailand

The Public Sector Capacity Building Unit, AIT Extension, in close collaboration with the Office of the Civil Service Commission (OCSC), Thailand is organizing a 2.5 weeks leadership development program on “Strategic Crisis Response Management” from 13 - 29 August 2012. This 15-days training program is designed to enhance leadership and management capacity of Thai government officials serving in specialized and operational fronts of ministries, departments and agencies. The program aims to enrich knowledge and skills of the government officials to carry out development programs / projects in the context of climate change and disaster management. It provides opportunity for participants to identify and incorporate lessons gained from direct experiences as well as from practices being carried out elsewhere. It expects to help them to formulate projects relevant and applicable to their organizations.

Eleven government officials from various government agencies like: Department of Highways, Food and Drug Administration, Bureau of Epidemiology, Department of Environmental Quality Promotion, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Public Health, Policy and Strategy Management Office, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Sciences and Technology, Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus, and Phetchaburi Rajabhat University are attending the program in Bangkok.

The second week of the learning activity involves the exposure visit to Japan. Over there the participants are set to meet with their counterparts from the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), Tokyo Fire Department (TFD), Fire Volunteer Corporation, and Government of the City of Sendai. In addition they will also visit the Tsunami affected areas in Sendai.
