Education and Employment

There are clear evidences that the Education For All (EFA) started 25 years has been in good progress. Enrollment rates of youth population in primary education of developing countries have been increased overtime. Today, young female populations also have higher accessibility to schools than before. The governments in the developing countries continue to give priority to basic education and to promoting life-long education. School Based Management (SBM) is the educational development and management model that has been adopted to mobilize teaching / learning resources in schools, as well as to strengthen student-centered approach in basic education. Most countries in Southeast Asia, South Asia and the Pacific have followed this pathway of development to address national human resource development agenda.

The post-2015 global agenda in education, developing countries have put resources and efforts to make close link between education and job skills in order to respond to the job markets. Education sector will become more and more influential factor for economic growth and for strengthening competitive advantage of the countries.  Likewise, policy makers will have to ensure that performance of this sector is meeting national educational outcomes in the knowledge economy and globalization arena. Effective education quality management, teacher education, applications of ICT in education and TVET have been emerging challenges that the national governments have to overcome.
