AIT Extension receives visitors from Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH), Sweden

On 12 July, Monday, Dr. Nader Asnafi, Dean & Chief Research Director, School of Engineering, BTH, Sweden and Mr. Stefan Sjodahl, Education Director, School of Engineering, BTH, Sweden traveled to Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) to meet with Dr. Jonathan Shaw, Director, AIT Extension and other senior colleagues at Extension. Professional Development Needs Assessment workshop hosted for Asian Project Management Support Programme (APMAS), an initiative of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)

A group of forty-four project managers including IFAD officials (focal points) from four different countries – Cambodia, India, Lao PDR and Vietnam attended the four day professional workshop from 6 – 9 July, 2010 at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Bangkok, Thailand. The objective of the workshop is to enhance the management capabilities of rural development projects and programmes in the region by building project management capacity; strengthening the policy environment; and improving the capacity of service providers.

AIT attends first annual Social Business Day

On Monday 28 June 2010, AIT Extension's Jonathan Shaw and Faiz Shah represented AIT at the first annual Social Business Day, held at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon in Dhaka. The event was observed with celebrations around the world. Dr Shaw and Dr Shah were on mission in Bangladesh, and were representing AIT on behalf of President Said Irandoust and Yunus Center Director, Dr. Riaz Khan. Read more »

Project Appraisal and Feasibility Study for Road Development Projects (12 July - 13 August, 2010)

AIT Extension in conjunction with United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), Bangkok, Thailand is organizing an exclusive collaborative learning activity on “Project Appraisal and Feasibility Study for Road Development Projects” at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. General Banking and Management of Central Banks – Nepal Rastra Bank (05 – 09 July, 2010)

AIT Extension in close collaboration with Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) (Central Bank of Nepal) is hosting a special advance course on “General Banking and Management of Central Banks” at AIT, Thailand. Thirty-one officials from NRB are attending this program. This customized training course guides participants in an exploration of essential topics in Central Bank management and the management of critical Central Bank functions through the seasoned experience of Central Banking veterans, experts, and practitioners, and leading academics in effective leadership, supervision skills.
