Professional Development Program on: Procurement Management, 15th – 27th July 2016

This is a 12 days Customized Professional Development Program on Procurement Management is prepared for 6 Senior Officials from Project for Agriculture Commercialization and Trade (PACT), Ministry of Agriculture Development (MoAD), Government of Nepal.

The objective of Project Procurement Management is to prepare the project manager and project management team to effectively manage the procurement and contracting aspects of a project. The course begins with introductory sections explaining legal concepts of contracts and contract pricing. Then the Project Procurement Management Knowledge Area processes are presented: Plan Procurements, Conduct Procurements, Administer Procurements, and Close Procurements. The processes in Project Procurement Management are initiated early in the project with a procurement management plan and are ongoing throughout the life of the project. Although this course focuses on procurement from the buyer’s perspective, the final section explores procurement from the seller’s point of view. Public procurement specialist needs an understanding of the legislative requirements; the need for public sector accountability; and best practice in the methods and techniques involved.

Objective:

This program aims to prepare the participants to effectively manage the procurement and contracting aspects of the project. The program will give participants some new methods, and tools to manage the procurement process more transparent, effective and sometimes cost saving for the government and also not compromising the quality.

This program is held during 15 – 27 July 2016 at Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok
