This 2 weeks Customized Professional Development Training Course on Poverty Mapping and Small Area Estimated is to be conducted for 10 Officials of Central Statistical Agency, The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia during 3 – 14 October 2016.
The Central Statistical Agency (CSA) is the Ethiopian government organization coordinating and leading the National Statistical System, collect and compile data from sample survey, census and administrative records. The CSA analyzes data and deliver reports for various sectors or users. Moreover, CSA provides technical guidance and assistance to government agencies, institution and reporting systems, and build the capacity required for providing directives and consultations in development of administrative records and registration system. In general the CSA of Ethiopia leads the statistical system in the country.
The CSA has a plan to build the capacity of its staff through training and experience sharing visits in Thailand. With regard to this, CSA collaborated with AIT Extension of the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand to organize the training for 10 experts on Poverty Analysis and Small Area Estimation from 3 – 14 October 2016.
Objective:
The main objective of the training course is to introduce the techniques of poverty measurement and analysis and use of small area estimation (SAE) Tools and Technique to produce spatially disaggregated estimates of poverty.
