This intensive one-week program focuses on theoretical and practical aspect in smart grid. Normally, the grid, refers to the electric grid, a network of transmission and distribution lines, substations, transformers and more that deliver electricity from the power plants to the end users. “Smart grid” is the electrical grid which includes a variety of operational and energy measures including smart meters, smart appliances, renewable energy resources, and energy efficient resources. It is the use of digital information and controls technology for the power transmission and distribution management in order to improve reliability, security, and efficiency of the electric grid.
OBJECTIVE
The course will provide a comprehensive overview of all the technical and application issues regarding Smart Grid technology developed and applied in the power system. It covers many aspects such as development background, its market, components, and management etc.
