Dr. Bahul Shrestha has dedicated sixteen years to capacity building, human resource development, and professional training for various governments and donor agencies in Asia. His work has focused on crucial issues such as development policies, national planning, and projects related to public service sector development. His professional knowledge includes various thematic areas, such as education, vocational training, banking and finance, natural resource management, climate change, agricultural development, food security, poverty alleviation, gender equality, energy, hydropower, irrigation, public health, disaster risk reduction, infrastructure development, good governance, and anti-corruption, all of which have direct ties to the global Sustainable Development Goals.
Throughout his career, Dr. Shrestha has coordinated and conducted over 100 capacity building training programs for government and public sector organizations in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Pakistan, Maldives, and Afghanistan. He currently assists AIT Extension in business development, connecting potential clients, and contributes to the design and development of capacity building programs tailored to the specific needs of public sector organizations.
Dr. Shrestha commenced his tenure at AIT Extension in 2007 and subsequently departed AIT in 2012 to pursue doctoral studies in Development Administration at the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) in Bangkok, Thailand. Between 2013 and 2023, he dedicated his efforts to capacity development initiatives for various governments, donors, bilateral and multilateral organizations, including the Thai Government Universities, USAID, ADB, World Bank, and UN Agencies. His research interests include governance, public policy, and disaster management
