AIT Extension is hosting a professional development program on “Environmental and Social Safeguards” for Engineers and Administrators from the Ministry of Local Development (MoLD), Government of Nepal (17 – 25 May, 2010). Organized for the second time, this one week training program is designed specially for the government officials who are engaged in “Rural Accessibility Improvement and Decentralization Project (RAIDP)”. The RAIDP project is carried out by the Department of Local Infrastructure Development and Agricultural Roads (DoLIDAR) under the MoLD, Government of Nepal.
This program aims to provide an actionable outcome-driven framework for environmental management and social safeguard policy with a special focus on resettlement based on sound international standards. It is expected that the program helps participants to harmonize best procedures and guidelines for project effectiveness.
