Agriculture, Resources and Environment Unit, AIT Extension has welcomed a group of high-level delegates comprising state agricultural development project officials from Nigeria for an exposure visit program on “Cottage Industries in the Agriculture Sector in Thailand” (21 – 25 May 2012).
The objective of this exposure visit is to strengthen the participants’ knowledge and broaden their insights on agriculture based cottage industries through practical examples from Thailand. The one-week program exclusively focuses on sharing practical experiences with relevant organizations and institutions undertaking & promoting research extension, and visiting different farmers and women groups, community organizations and private companies associated with cottage industries development. Thus, the program expects to provide first-hand experience on the innovative practices like: planning, processing, marketing, value addition and value chain management that various research centers, agriculture departments and farmers’ group organizations are promoting towards the development of cottage industries.
