Professional Development Training and Exposure Visit Program on Planning and Management of Successful Agribusiness Innovations, 28 February -10 March 2017

This is a ten days Customized Professional Development Training and Exposure Visit Program on Planning and Management of Successful Agribusiness Innovations (Thailand & Malaysia) is prepared for 11 Senior Officials from Project for Agriculture Commercialization and Trade (PACT), Ministry of Agriculture Development (MoAD), Government of Nepal.The Project for Agriculture Commercialization and Trade (PACT) has been serving farmers and entrepreneurs in Nepal to build viable agribusinesses by helping them find new market opportunities, determine market demands and build strategic linkages to increase productivity and quality.  Since 2009, the project has reached out to over 42,800 beneficiaries through private firms, cooperatives, farmer groups and agribusinesses, of which over 42% are women.

This Professional Development training and Study visits program is designed to be conducted in TWO countries: Thailand and Malaysia and aims to expose PACT officials with learning opportunity on Successful Agribusiness Incubators and Innovations. The program covers seminars on Challenges and Constrains of the Agribusiness Incubation System Process.  It highlights exposure visits to agencies and projects initiated by public and private sectors on management of agriculture products and market, agro-tourism, rural agricultural development, value-added processes for farmer crops, income generation activities, community agro-business, and agribusiness innovations.

Objective:

This program aims to prepare the participants to effectively, understand and learn the various activities of planning and management of agribusiness innovation center in Thailand and Malaysia and explore the possibilities of replication in Nepal.

This program is held during 28 February – 10 March 2017 at Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok
